Safari 3 Beta for Windows and Mac

Steve Jobs announced today, among other things, the release of Safari 3.  You might wonder how that affects you the Windows XP/Vista runnerer.  Well, Stevey announced it for Mac AND Windows XP/Vista.  Here are somethings that I have noted thus far while typing this in Safari 3 running on Vista Ultimate:
  • Ok and submit buttons have the Mac rounded edges on them.
  • Text fields and boxes are highlighted like they are on a Mac.
  • Only resize the browser window from the bottom right hand side instead of being able to pull any side out.
  • My right mouse button was disabled.  I kidd, I kidd.
Why was it released for Windows?  Is it to help ease peoples transition from Windows to Mac?  Is it because Apple wants to share some love to the Windows folks?  Whatever it is, you will need to start making a spreadsheet for all of the browsers you need to test sites in.  Let's just hope it renders the same as Safari on Mac the way Firefox does on both browsers.
